Practical info

Opening hours

The buildings are closed to the public, but it is possible to participate in one of the annual open tours or book a private tour of the area. Here we enter Brede Main Building, where the factory director lived with his family, and into the more spartan workers' housing.

Parking

You will find a car park at the entrance to Brede Works, just behind Brede Spisehus.

If all the parking spaces are full, you can use another car park at the northern entrance to the Open-Air Museum (I. C. Modewegsvej), which is close to Brede Værk.

Accessibility

There are stairs in all the buildings and no lift, so it is not possible for wheelchair users or people with severe mobility difficulties to enter the buildings.

Food & Beverages

Brede Spisehus

Discover culinary delights at the charming Brede Spisehus restaurant, which originally served as a canteen for factory workers. Try their Danish-French cuisine whilst enjoying the romantic view of the lake.

Brede Høker

Visit this little grocery shop and café, offering hand-picked delicacies, cosy communal meals and regular events for both locals and visitors.

Picnic areas

You’re welcome to bring a picnic basket or a packed lunch to the ‘factory in the countryside’. You can sit on the large lawn in the park, at the tables and benches in the charming lock house, or inside the museum’s café or orangery.
